Yang Guo Fu Mala Tang with BB (1-for-1: $15+)!
1-for-1 mala tang at Yang Guo Fu (杨国福) with BB — one spicy red broth and one non-spicy clear broth, both loaded with fishcake, mock crab, tau pok, lettuce and instant noodles. $15+ total.
Caught another Yang Guo Fu (杨国福) 1-for-1 promo with BB — back for the customisable mala tang bowls. $15+ total. 😋
What was on the table ($15+ for two bowls):
- Spicy mala tang (my bowl) — instant ramen noodles in a deep red mala broth with that signature ma-la tingle. Loaded with mock crab sticks, fishcake pieces, fried tau pok strips and napa cabbage / lettuce.
- Non-spicy clear broth (BB’s bowl) — same ingredients, but in a clear soup base for the less-spicy preference. Cabbage, fishcake, prawn ball, carrot slices, fried tau pok.
- A small side dish of fermented chilli garlic sauce for extra punch and a small dish of their signature sesame dipping sauce for the non-spicy side.
The 1-for-1 system means you pick your own ingredients by weight, then choose the broth — so portion and spiciness are both customisable. Always a good move.
Total: $15+. Promo pricing made the bill light for two bowls.
Overall: 4.2 / 5. Mala broth had proper ma-la tingle, not just heat — the Sichuan peppercorn was real. BB’s clear broth was a nice contrast. Yang Guo Fu remains the go-to for casual mala. 😍👍🏼
