Saturday's brunch — macaroni seafood soup at home with BB!
Home-cooked Saturday brunch with BB — two bowls of macaroni seafood soup with shiitake, prawns, tofu, fried tau pok, fish balls and lettuce.
Slow Saturday brunch with BB — cooked up a macaroni seafood soup at home. Clean and clear, the kind that’s easy to keep eating. 😋
What was on the table:
- Two metal mess tins of clear macaroni soup — short tube macaroni in a clean savoury broth.
- Each bowl topped with: whole prawns (sweet, fresh), a rehydrated shiitake mushroom (umami earthy), a piece of fried tau pok, a cube of silken tofu, a small white fish ball and a generous bunch of iceberg lettuce for the green.
Home cooked, simple, comforting. The shiitake adds the broth depth without needing extra MSG.
Total: home pantry pricing 😅.
Overall: 4.2 / 5. Clean, light, easy — perfect for a slow Saturday morning. BB loved the tofu cubes. Will cook again next weekend. 😍👍🏼
