TGIF dinner catch-up at VBG Gastropub (Balestier)!
TGIF group dinner at VBG Gastropub in Balestier — fish and chips, salmon with purple cauliflower, clam pasta and ice-cold draft beer to celebrate friends and Friday.
Friday night catch-up with the squad at VBG Gastropub in Balestier. Western food + cold beer + good company = exactly the kind of TGIF we needed. 🍺😋
What we shared at the table:
- Fish & chips — golden battered fillet on a bed of fries with tartar sauce and lemon wedge. Classic pub-style.
- Salmon plate — pan-seared salmon dressed with shimeji mushrooms, purple cauliflower, scallions and a drizzle of dark glaze. Surprisingly pretty.
- Vongole pasta (clam linguine) — al dente linguine tossed with fresh clams, parsley and a light garlic-white wine sauce.
- An ice-cold glass of draft beer in a tall pilsner — the kind that disappears too fast on a hot Singapore night.
Group photos at the end (masks on between courses 😷) — first proper meet-up after a while, so plenty of catching up over the food.
Overall: 4 / 5. Solid gastropub fare, generous portions, and the beer was properly chilled. The salmon plating was a nice surprise. Great spot for group catch-ups. 😍👍🏼
