Chicken chop waffle at a Geylang café ($13.80)!
Chicken chop on a golden waffle with purple cabbage slaw and maple syrup at a Geylang café. $13.80. Savoury-sweet combo done café-style.
Lazy afternoon at a Geylang café — went for one of those savoury-sweet plates that café menus love: chicken chop waffle. 😋
What was on the blue plate ($13.80):
- A thick golden waffle, crisp on the outside, soft in the middle.
- A whole grilled chicken thigh sitting on top — caramelised edges, juicy underneath, with bits of rosemary visible in the skin.
- A side mound of purple cabbage slaw dressed in a creamy sauce, finished with a cherry tomato.
- A little jug of maple syrup on the side — your call whether to drizzle.
I went all in with the syrup over both the chicken and waffle. Sweet-salty-fatty combo that always works. 😍
Total: $13.80. Reasonable for café portions in town.
Overall: 3.8 / 5. Chicken was tasty but the waffle could’ve been crispier — went a bit soft once the chicken juice soaked in. Slaw was a nice palate refresher. Good for a chill café meal, not a destination plate. 👍🏼
